Forza! Partigiani is a Special Interest Group (SIG) of Company A, 1st New Mexico Volunteer Infantry (1stNMVI), a 501(c)(3) corporation whose members serve as living historians and battlefield reenactors at events throughout the State of New Mexico and beyond.
The members of Forza! Partigiani portray typical Italian partisan combatants operating in central Italy (primarily the provinces of Lazio, Campania, Abruzzo, and Molise) from January through June of 1944. This period begins with the Allied landings at Anzio-Nettuno and concludes with the liberation of Rome. Should an opportunity present itself to portray ‘militarized’ partisans operating after the liberation of Rome, and north of the Gustav Line, members may elect to develop additional impressions for that time and place. Nevertheless, the fully civilian partisan impression is valid for both.
